High Performance Servers - IBM® eServer 1350 Clusters

Each IBM eServer Cluster 1350 system is comprised of nodes having dual 3.2 GHz Intel® Xeon processors. A second set of nodes consists of dual 3.6 GHz Intel Xeon processors. Each has a "head node" for access and system administration.

Cluster one, "nelson", has 26 computational nodes, and supports a special project being conducted by CSIRO Marine Research and CSIRO Atmospheric Research.

The cluster "burnet", has 110 computational nodes, and "nelson", has 26 computational nodes. On burnet, there are four configurations of nodes:

  1. 28 nodes with 2GB of memory,
  2. 28 nodes with 4GB of memory,
  3. 28 nodes with 2GB of memory, 64bit processors, more disk and infiniband interconnect and,
  4. 26 nodes with 8Gb of memory, 64 bit processors and more disk space.
